Giovanni Ruiz (21), the suspect in the murder of beloved Las Vegas student Paula Davis (19), appeared in court for the first time since he was arrested. Ruiz is accused of killing his former girlfriend with a deadly weapon.
University of Las Vegas student, Paula Davis, first went missing before she was found dead several days later. Police discovered her dead body in a family van at a North Las Vegas park. Her former boyfriend, Giovanni Ruiz, was the first suspect, and the police arrested him soon after discovering the unfortunate girl’s body.
During a house search, police found a semi-automatic gun hidden in a suitcase. Ruiz purchased the weapon two days before Paula was killed. The family of the murdered girl says that she used to describe her boyfriend as jealous and possessive.
Ruiz will appear in court again next Monday. His lawyer filed a request to prevent the police from disclosing information regarding the case to the media.
